Two teams with an identical match record: use head to head results.
Three teams with an identical match record:
- Set Percentage: The total number of sets played in the pool (sets won divided
by total sets played). The team with the highest set percentage is seeded first. If equal all three are equal, proceed to the next tiebreaker. If one team is seeded 1st, the next two teams are seeded by set percentage. If they are tied in set percentage, the will be seeded by head to head results.
If the three teams are still tied:
- Point Percentage: Each team’s total points scored divided by the total points scored by the team’s opponents in that pool. The team with the highest point percentage is seeded first. If one team is seeded 1st, the next two teams are seeded by point percentage. If they are tied in point percentage, the will be seeded by head to head results.
Please provide two lines persons, one scorekeeper, and one libero tracker. The site will provide a bookkeeper for all games. Some playing venues may provide additional referee help; however, teams are still required to provide the requisite amount of referees to start the match or to fill in as the match progresses.
Please look closely for all your refereeing assignments. If your team is late to your assignment, an automatic 5-point penalty will be assessed to your team in the first game of your next match. A team is considered “late” when a match is ready to start with the referee ready to beckon for the first serve. The work team for each pool is designated “REF” within the pool/bracket schedule. Please be mindful that Saturday morning’s refereeing assignments are unique.
No teams are required to referee the championship match for GOLD bracket championship game.
Matches may begin prior to the scheduled time only on Friday and Saturday during pool play if only both coaches agree to do so.
Bracket matches may only start before the scheduled time if approved by either the tournament director or the site director.
On each of the four courts, there will be one cart with 12 balls. If that number is sufficient for your team to warm up, then your team will not need to bring volleyballs. At the end of every warm up, the balls will be counted. The teams will be responsible for accounting for all 12 balls each game. One official game ball will be supplied for each court.
Each team will have 8 minutes of warm up before each 3-set match. Four minutes on the court and four minutes off the court. On-court teams have priority to the balls and ball cart for each court.
A trainer will be on site during the event. Please see the site director to access the trainer.
Team trophies will be given to the winner of the gold bracket, silver bracket, bronze bracket, copper bracket and consolation bracket. A second place trophy will be
awarded to the runner-up of the gold bracket. Individual awards will be given to all athletes from the gold bracket championship team.
An All-Tournament team will be named consisting of players from the teams that advance into the gold bracket. Each player named to the All-Tournament team will receive an award.
